This is the website of Woodside Waters Angling Syndicate. The syndicate exists to provide first class fishing in unspoilt peaceful surroundings for the benefit of all our members. The website exists to hopefully keep all of us in touch a little easier and to share our captures and other experiences amongst one another. Special thanks go to members Brian and Martyn Skoyles whose expertise has been invaluable for getting the project off the ground.

Lake Information

Woodside Waters

Woodside Waters is a rapidly maturing 8-acre sandpit, set in open countryside close to the village of Westwoodside in North Lincolnshire. In 1995 the lake was excavated initially to create a first class environment for duck shooting, it was further extended in 1996 to its present size of 8 acres. The design of the lake incorporates secluded bays, islands and numerous other features, the entire margins are well established with extensive beds of Norfolk Reed and Reed Mace. Woodside is shallow with average depths of 1 metre and a maximum depth of 1.8 metres. The lake is fringed with maturing woodland yet retains good vehicular access to all swims.

The fishing on Woodside runs from 1st February to 30th November each year. Fishing is limited to syndicate members and their families only. There are no day tickets available for Woodside but members may take guests at certain times of the year.

Fish Stocks

Woodside contains good stocks of most coarse fish species. Carp rule the roost with the lake record standing at 27lb, there are literally dozens of common and mirror carp with the average size being mid doubles. Although it is difficult to be precise regarding numbers of fish, the best known seasons catch to one angler was 13 fish over 20lb with countless other doubles. It is not uncommon to catch 150 doubles per season or up to 15 fish a night when the fish are really having it. As well as carp there is a small head of specimen bream with individual fish going to 13lb plus. The lake record perch stands at a massive 4lb1oz and the best Pike at 21lb.
