Well Woodside opened a day early this year and the only person to fish was new member Alex Spence.He fished the only part of the lake which was not frozen and took 6 pike,3 Jacks and fish of 11lbs 2oz,14lbs 4oz and 18lbs,well done Alex for braving the cold.The whole Lake is currently frozen solid,so any member who was thinking of fishing in the next few days please ring Butty before travelling.We will keep members updated as often as possible both on the latest news and on the members forum.When you get fishing don't forget to send me your catch reports and photo's via woodsidewaters@hotmail.com.Ivan |

The members at Woodside appear to have put their carp gear away for the winter and turned to Pike angling as the season on the lake comes to a close. First we must welcome back onto the banks Mark Tomenson who has had a terrible year with illness but is now on the road to recovery.He managed his first session for months and had 3 pike of 6lbs,8lbs and a nice double of 16lbs,well done Mark.Rob Milns made the long journey from Holmfirth and fishing with a guest manged 5 Pike between them the best being a nice double of 15lbs 8oz to Rob.I have included a recent picture of young Jay and his new PB Pike of 14lbs 10oz.

Low water levels and unusual weather patterns have played havoc with the catch rate at Woodside.Gav Lancaster fished a short day session and had 2 small commons to show 9lbs and 9lbs 8oz.Mark who was a guest of Butty fished an overnighter and had 4 Commons to 23lbs 3oz breaking his PB twice in the process so a well done to him.Don't forget to send your catch reports to Ivan at woodsidewaters@hotmail.com |

The fishing has been pretty tough on Woodside this past couple of weeks,with only a few fish coming out.Gav fished an overnighter and had a Common at 13lbs 11oz and a lovely Mirror of 12lbs 4oz he also had a Mirror of 6lbs 2oz !!Little Craig has been residing at the Lake again fishing 4 sessions in the last 2 weeks.Just go home and say sorry Craig.He has had 2 sessions with Richard which resulted in Richard landing 2 Commons to 16lbs and Craig 3 Commons to 14lbs 8oz and on their other session they both blanked. Craig managed 4 fish to 14lbs from his solo sessions but describes the sessions as hard work.Don't forget send your catch reports and photo's to woodsidewaters@hotmail.com |
